Poem: My Offering To Her

This is my humble ode to the gender-neutral Divine Energy. I refer to That as Her because I practice Sri Vidya, part of the Shakta tradition. The final state of this tradition is Advaita, which proposes that we see the divine in everything and everyone, including ourselves. That is the undertone of this ode.

Her light in my parents shone clear,
Teaching me to serve with a heart pure.
In my husband’s arms, Her glow I found
Rekindling my spirit with love profound.

Her brilliance gleamed in my son’s eyes,
Challenging my anger to spark my rise.
In my students’ gaze, Her radiance beams
Lifting me to skies beyond my wildest dreams.

Her wisdom in my guru’s teaching roars,
Shattering my ego to unlock all doors.
In myriad forms, Her presence shows
It’s within me She eternally glows.
